weather citizen (Ethan Marshall Cohen) was born in the California Bay area. After studying Political Theory and Music at Cornell University, he recorded and performed in the experimental electroacoustic ensemble Time/Being and began his career composing music and sound professionally. A resident of Detroit for over 10 years, he has developed a sound art practice focused on community, experimentation, and interconnection engaging and building new futures. His compositions emerge in various formats, including sound installations, generative programs, audiovisual works, film scores, and traditional stereo-format releases. He shares his auditory dreams with the creative commons under the moniker weather citizen and collaborates professionally under his given name.
